Zhang Qianggong, a research fellow at the Institute of Tibetan Plateau Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), has long been engaged in the research of the cryosphere and environment. He has presided over three projects supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China and published more than 100 papers. He was awarded the Shi Yafeng Prize for Young Scientists in Cryosphere and Environment by the China Society of Cryospheric Science in 2017, and was selected as an excellent member of the Youth Innovation Promotion Association of CAS in 2020. Now, he is engaged in the environmental impact research of the changes in the Alpine cryosphere, supported by the National Science Fund for Excellent Young Scholars.
