Ding Lieming, chairman and CEO of Betta Pharmaceuticals, is an expert of the National High-level Talent Program, an expert of the general working group of the special project of major new drug development, and a Super Expert enjoying special government allowances from the State Council. He obtained his MD degree from the University of Arkansas, and is a US-certified pathologist. He is a member of the 12th and 13th National People's Congress, Standing Committee member and deputy director of the Expert Committee on Biology and Medicine of the All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, vice chairman of the Zhejiang Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, director of the Central Economic and Financial Committee of the Chinese Peasants' and Workers' Democratic Party, vice chairman of the CPC Zhejiang Provincial Committee, vice president of China Pharmaceutical Innovation and Research Development Association (PhIRDA), and president of Zhejiang Pharmaceutical Association.
