Yang Xuezong is a distinguished associate research fellow at the Hangzhou Institute for Advanced Study, UCAS. Recently, Yang's research group, together with Prof. Richard Mildren's group from Macquarie University in Australia and other collaborators, used ytterbium-doped fiber lasers with bandwidth tuning of 1020-1072 nm as pump sources and adopted the first-order Raman conversion and frequency doubling technology of diamond crystals to achieve tunable CW laser output in the yellow-red band (590-625 nm) with output power up to 8 W.
