On March 10, the kick-off meeting of theZhejiang provincial key R&D project "R&D of Technical Equipment and Platform for Rapid Environmental Emergency Management and Control" led byJiang Guibin, a CAS fellow and dean of the HIAS School of Environment, was held at HIAS. Zheng Chonghui, executive vice dean of HIAS, attended the meeting.
The meeting established an expert group composed of Chen Jiping, a research fellow at the CAS Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics, Fu Qiang, chief engineer of China National Environmental Monitoring Center (CNEMC), Luo Qian, director of the Public Technology Service Platform of the CAS Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology, Professor Lin Daohui of Zhejiang University, and Zhang Hangjun, executive dean of the School of Life and Environmental Sciences of Hangzhou Normal University. The meeting was also attended by Executive Dean of HIAS School of Environment Zheng Minghui, heads of partner institutions of the project such as Zhejiang Ecological and Environmental Monitoring Center, Hangzhou Puyu Technology Development Co., Ltd., Zhejiang Shuren University, and Zhejiang University of Technology, and senior researchers of the project.
In his speech, Zheng Chonghui introduced the overall construction of HIAS and the achievements made so far. He pointed out that the R&D of Technical Equipment and Platform for Rapid Environmental Emergency Management and Control isthe first provincial key R&D project undertaken by HIAS, which is highly valued and fully supported by the institute. Departments will take solid steps to fully ensure the smooth and effective implementation of the project. He hoped that, under the guidance of experts and through cooperation with partner institutions, the project will bring forth a number of signature results and strategic products, tackle the difficulties in key and core technologies and issues restricting technological development, and provide strategic support for the high-quality economic and social development and the construction of "two high-levels" in Zhejiang Province.
At the meeting, Zheng Minghui introduced the overall situation of the project, and the subject leaders reported on the implementation plans and expected objectives and results of their subjects, respectively. After listening to the reports by project group members, the expert group fully affirmed the technical scheme and implementation plan of the project, and gave instructions on the key technologies and application demonstration of the project. The expert group said that the project will play a demonstration role in Zhejiang Province and drive the rapid development of the emergency management and control technology system in the province and even the whole country.
The R&D of Technical Equipment and Platform for Rapid Environmental Emergency Management and Control isthe first provincial key R&D project secured by HIAS. As the undertaker of the project, HIAS will work together with the partner institutions to implement the research plan and ensure the smooth implementation and completion of the project, according to the management requirements of the Science Technology Department of Zhejiang Province.
