Dean, School of Life Science
Academician, CAS
Researcher, Center for Excellence in Molecular Cell Science, CAS
Director, Shanghai Institute of Nutrition and Health, CAS
Dr. Lireceived his doctorate degree from Shanghai Institute of Biochemistry, CAS in 1989, postdoctoral degree in the Department of Physiology and Biophysics, State University of New York, Stony Brook, from 1990 to 1992. He was promoted to researcher in 1993 and elected as an academician of the CAS in 2011. He is the chief scientist of the Center for Excellence in Molecular Cell Science, CAS, where he studies cell signaling by learning protein interaction networks and their regulatory mechanisms to reveal the mechanism of the Wnt signaling pathway, which plays a key role in regulation of embryonic development, tumorigenesis and stem cell differentiation. Currently he is the chief scientist in charge of the CAS pilot project of “molecular basis and regulation of the plasticity of cell destiny”.
