Dr. Tan is currently a member of the Science and Technology Committee of the Ministry of Education, a member of the Advisory Committee of the Department of Chemistry of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and a member of the Expert Committee on Nanotechnology of the Ministry of Science and Technology. He is also deputy editor-in-chief of the Journal of the American Chemical Society,J.Am.Chem.Soc.magazine, and the deputy editor-in-chief or editor ofACS Nano, ChemSciandNational Science Review.Long-committed to education and research on biochemistry, biochemical analysis and molecular medicine, he is the first in the world to put forward a new concept of nucleic acid aptamer living cell screening. He developed molecular probes and targeted drugs for specific recognition of malignant tumor and other pathological cells, established a variety of new methods and technologies for the diagnosis and treatment of major diseases based on functional nucleic acids, provided new strategies, new tools and new materials for diagnostic medicine. He has published more than 700 scientific papers in global renowned journals such asScience,PNASandNature, with the H index at 140. For the sixth consecutive year from 2014 to 2019,he was selected in the Thomson Reuters global list of Highly Cited Researchers. He was awarded the 2019 Ralph N. Adams Prize for Achievement in Bioanalytical Chemistry, the 2018 Ho Leung Ho Lee Foundation Prize, second prize in the 2014NationalNatural Science (first author) and more than 20 research achievements at home and abroad.
