On the morning of November 21, a delegation of more than 80 people from the Shanghai Institute of Materia Medica, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) visited the Hangzhou Institute for Advanced Study (HIAS), UCAS for investigation. The delegation was led by Li Jia, Director of the Shanghai Institute of Materia Medica, Tian Shenrong, Secretary of the Party Committee, Ye Yang, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Secretary of the Commission for Discipline Inspection, Gao Zhaobing, Deputy Director of the Shanghai Institute of Materia Medica, and Shi Yansen, a member of the Institute Council. Zheng Chonghui, Executive Vice President of HIAS, and Research Fellow Huang Wei, Executive Dean of the School of Pharmaceutical Science and Technology, accompanied the delegation and attended the symposium.
At the symposium, Zheng Chonghui introduced the current situation of teaching and scientific research, faculty, talent training, innovation and entrepreneurship of HIAS.Zheng Chonghui said that HIAS should focus on the following aspects at present and in the future: Scientifically and reasonably set up the scale of talent training, and strive to increase the number of students in school to more than 1,000 within three years; Scientifically set up disciplines and research directions under the guidance of the 14th Five-Year Plan and Hangzhou's economic and social development goals; Fully promote the transfer and transformation of achievements with serving local economic and social development as the goal; Play an important role in the co-construction of Zhejiang Lab. Zheng Chonghui hoped that the Shanghai Institute of Materia Medica of the CAS could provide strong support and assistance to do the above work well.
Later, Huang Wei gave a brief introduction to the establishment background, positioning, objectives, disciplines and organizational structure, as well as the discipline construction progress of the School of Pharmaceutical Science and Technology.
Before the symposium, the delegation of the Shanghai Institute of Materia Medica, CAS also visited the main campus in Tongjian Lake, Yunyi Campus Area, and the laboratory of the School of Pharmaceutical Science and Technology.
Leaders of research groups and heads of functional departments of Shanghai Institute of Materia Medica of the CAS, and relevant heads of the General Office of Party and Administration Affairs, Human Resources Department, Academic Affairs Department, Infrastructure Office and the School of Pharmaceutical Science and Technology of HIAS attended the reception.
