Recently,Kang Wanhui, a postdoctoral fellow from HIAS/Key Laboratory of Systems Health Science of Zhejiang Province, was announced to be included in the second batch of the 2021 International Postdoctoral Exchange Fellowship Program (Talent-Introduction Program). Her achievement makes Hangzhou Institute for Advanced Study (HIAS), UCAS attractive to excellent postdoctoral fellows.
Kang Wanhui graduated from Cornell University with a doctoral degree in nutritional sciences in August 2021. In October 2021, she joined HIAS/Key Laboratory of Systems Health Science of Zhejiang Province for postdoctoral research (co-supervisor: Research Fellow Lin Xu). During the postdoctoral period, she mainly carried out precision intervention research with 100 participants in Project III of the Strategic Pilot Science and Technology Projects (Class B) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
The International Postdoctoral Exchange Fellowship Program (Talent-Introduction Program) aims to attract outstanding young talents from all over the world to China or encourage them to return to China to engage in postdoctoral research. As a world-class talent and academic platform, it continuously stimulates the formation of innovative thinking and promotes the rapid growth of postdoctoral personnel by effectively combining domestic and foreign advantageous resources. In 2021, the program selected less than 500 newly graduated outstanding doctoral students, with the intention of subsidizing outstanding doctors who have obtained doctoral degrees abroad to carry out postdoctoral research in China for two years, with a total amount of RMB 600,000, including personal living expenses, housing subsidies, social insurance, and round-trip international travel expenses for the selected personnel during their postdoctoral research in China.
As the main force in the scientific and technological innovation of HIAS, the postdoctoral scientific research group plays an important role in the construction of the talent team system of HIAS. Going forward, HIAS will focus on the country's critical needs and the demands of regional economic and social development to actively push forward the innovation of the building and management system and mechanism of postdoctoral talent teams and improve the internationalization of postdoctoral talents. In addition, HIAS will incorporate the construction of the postdoctoral talent teams into the overall planning of talent team construction by optimizing the allocation of resources, implementing the innovative management system, smoothing development channels, and improving the service system, fully exploit and give full play to the policy advantages of the postdoctoral system, and make concerted efforts to construct a small but refined talent cultivation system with a high starting point that integrates science, education, innovation and production and is adapted to new teaching and scientific research institutions.
