Recently, the Hangzhou Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau announced thelist of outstanding and typical postdoctoral workstations in Hangzhou in 2021, identifying 10 units, including Hangzhou Institute for Advanced Study (HIAS), UCAS,as the typical postdoctoral workstations in Hangzhou in 2021.

The selection of typical postdoctoral workstations aims to ensure the typical postdoctoral workstation serves as a benchmark for postdoctoral units, encourages all parties to work together to improve the construction and work results of postdoctoral workstations, and creates a sound environment for the gathering of young scientific and technological talents to promote the long-term development of postdoctoral career.

The fact that HIAS was included in the list of the typical postdoctoral workstations means that Hangzhou recognizes the institution for what it has done regarding issues about postdoctoral workstations. As a new R&D institution that is small yet high-quality at a high standard, HIAS has always given priority to the introduction and training of postdoctoral fellows and has now enrolled a total of 161 postdoctors. As the main forces of the HIAS scientific research groups, postdoctoral fellows play a vital role in the construction of HIAS's overall scientific research system and achievements. In introducing postdoctors, HIAS is also constantly improving the relevant institutional system, solving external difficulties, striving to create an excellent scientific research environment, and becoming more attractive to external talents. Continuously strengthening the training of postdoctoral talents and promoting the construction of talent teams are the only way for HIAS to implement the construction of systems and mechanisms, and are also inevitable requirements for Hangzhou to make greater contributions to creating a new development situation of "greater Hangzhou with high quality and common prosperity".
