The 18th Beijing-Shanghai-Hangzhou High-tech Forum and a Working Meeting of Zhejiang Academicians' Home Alliance
On December 8, the 18th Beijing-Shanghai-Hangzhou High-tech Forum was held as scheduled. The forum was held online due to the epidemic. Wang Jianyu, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and president of Hangzhou Institute for Advanced Study(HIAS), UCAS, attended the event and delivered a keynote speech. Wang Lijun, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Zhang Xiaoye, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, sent video messages to the forum. The forum was presided over by Wang Xin, Deputy Secretary of the Leading Party Group and Vice Chairman of Hangzhou Association for Science and Technology. The total number of views online nearly reached 100,000.
Wang Jianyu, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, President of HIAS, and Chief Professor of the School of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering, delivered a keynote speech titled Space Internet and Commercial Aerospace.Academician Wang Jianyu pointed out that Space Internet is on the rise. TargetingSpaceX Starlink, China Satellite Network Group was officially established on April 28, 2021 with the approval of the State Council. China has completed the basic planning of near-earth space networking, and core technologies involved in Space Internet such as recyclable rockets manufacturing, satellite batch manufacturing and space laser communication are gradually developing and continuously maturing.At the same time, the development of Space Internet has promoted the aerospace industry to continuously evolve from traditional model to business model.

Wang Jianyu stressed that commercial aerospace has the advantages of short R&D cycle, great cost reduction, manufacturing mode innovation and large-scale production. Meanwhile, its rapid development also brings risks which should not be ignored, such as capital orientation and user risks, competition with existing systems, competition regarding inherent space resources, and high technology and special quality risks of aerospace products.
The forum was guided by Zhejiang Association for Science and Technology, co-sponsored by HIAS, Zhejiang Academician Expert Service Center, Hangzhou Association for Science and Technology and the People's Government of Xiaoshan District, and undertaken by Hangzhou Academician Expert Center, Hangzhou Digital Economy Federation, Xiaoshan Association for Science and Technology and Xianghu High-tech Application Research Institute. In addition, a working meeting of Zhejiang Academicians' Home Alliance was held in the afternoon.
The forum brought together many leaders and experts from government departments, universities, scientific research institutions and business circles in Beijing, Shanghai and Hangzhou.While thoroughly implementing the spirit of the Sixth Plenary Session of the 19th CPC Central Committee and General Secretary Xi Jinping's important instructions on grasping the trend and law of digital economy development and promoting the healthy development of China's digital economy, the forum discussed the digital advantages of high-tech industries in Beijing, Shanghai, Hangzhou and other places and the important positioning of Zhejiang Province as a national common prosperity demonstration zone, promoting the deep integration of technology and economy and facilitating the green and high-quality development and digital transformation of Hangzhou's new manufacturing industry in the context of "carbon peak and carbon neutrality",thus contributing to the achievement of carbon peak and carbon neutrality across the whole province and the entire country.
