Recently, the Department of Science and Technology of Zhejiang Province and the Zhejiang Provincial Natural Science Foundation Committee have issued theNotice on Launching the 2022 Zhejiang Provincial Basic Public Welfare Research Project. The Outstanding Youth Program of Zhejiang Provincial Natural Science Foundation was approved for Li Guanhai from the School of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering of Hangzhou Institute for Advanced Study(HIAS), UCAS.
Li Guanhai is Associate Professor of the School of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering of HIAS. Henow works in Professor Chen Xiaoshuang's Lab. He has been selected into the Youth Innovation Promotion Association of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Shanghai Rising-Star Program, and was one of the 100 candidates for the first Shanghai Science & Technology 35 Under 35 Program. He is a member of the Advisory Committee ofJournal of Physics D: Applied Physics of the Institute of Physics in the United Kingdom and an editorial board member ofFrontiers in Photonics.z
The focus of his research is the infrared light field regulation mechanism of metasurface and the physics, preparation and imaging of single photon detectors. He has published more than 40 papers in journals such asScience Advances andNature Communications as the first or corresponding author, and has been cited nearly 1,000 times. Some of his achievements have been reported by domestic and foreign websites and media such as the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Science.com, and relevant achievements have been included inJournal of the Youth Innovation Promotion Association CAS.
Zhejiang Provincial Basic Public Welfare Research Project consists of two secondary programs, i.e., Natural Science Foundation and Public Welfare Technology Application Research Program. Natural Science Foundation mainly supports the basic research, applied research and strategic frontier technology research in natural science, engineering science and management science, while Public Welfare Technology Application Research Program mainly supports the development of public and non-profit technologies with clear application directions and prospects and the promotion and application of achievements.
This year, HIAS applied for 14 projects, in which 3 Natural Science Foundation projects and 2 Public Welfare Technology Application Research Program projects have been approved, with a funding rate of 35.7%.This is the first time that HIAS has obtained project approval since it became a supporting institution of Zhejiang Provincial Basic Public Welfare Research Project in 2020.
