The "Young Talent Support Project" is a program launched by the China Association for Science and Technology in 2015 for young talents. Each session of the project focuses on supporting a group of young scientific and technological talents under the age of 32 so as to give full play to the professional advantages of the association and innovate the selection and training mechanism of young talents. In this way, the program will help them to grow at a fast pace during the golden period of scientific research, create a reserve team of high-level scientific and technological talents in the country, and provide an important pool of human resources for the construction of an innovation-driven country and nurture national scientific and technological leaders with both virtues and talents. Young talents can receive stable funding for 3 consecutive years with RMB 150,000 per person per year.
Previously, Li Xiang, a postdoctoral fellow from the School of Life and Health Sciences of HIAS, was funded by the 6th "Young Talent Support Project". HIAS attaches great importance to the recruitment and training of young scientists and researchers. It works hard to build a team of young scientists and researchers, adopt new management mechanisms and has created a sound environment for scientific research, which has strongly stimulated the vitality and creativity of young researchers. It has made continuous efforts to build itself into a small yet high-quality R&D institution at a high standard.
