On April 27, the project "Template Library for Space-oriented Gravitational Wave Detection and Techniques for Signal Identification", a key project of "Gravitational Wave Detection" of the National Key Research and Development Program undertaken by Hangzhou Institute for Advanced Study(HIAS), UCAS, was successfully held online and offline. Professor Cao Zhoujian from the School of Fundamental Physics and Mathematical Sciences of HIAS, UCAS, was responsible for the project. More than 50 people attended the meeting, including members of the High Technology Research and Development Center of the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People's Republic of China, the expert group, the lead agency, and the organizations responsible for undertaking tasks.

On behalf of the project leader, Li Jianmei, Deputy Director of Research and Platform Management Department of HIAS, firstly extended a sincere welcome to the participating leaders and experts and expressed his gratitude to the project team members for their efforts, and said that he would give full play to the role of HIAS and cooperate with all functional departments to ensure the smooth implementation of the project. Prof. Geng Chaoqiang, Executive Dean of the School of Fundamental Physics and Mathematical Sciences, expressed his gratitude to the experts for their support of the project on behalf of the leading school and hoped that they would give valuable comments and suggestions on the implementation plan and the arrangements of the research.

At the feasibility assessment meeting, the project leader, Prof. Cao Zhoujian, introduced the overall situation of the project and reported on the overall objectives, assessment indexes, task decomposition, division of responsibilities and schedule of the project. The leaders of the project, Prof. Cao Zhoujian, Prof. Han Wenbiao, Prof. Liu Yuxiao, and Associate Research Fellow Pi Shi, reported on the background of the project, implementation plan and technical route of the tasks they undertook. The experts responsible for assessing the feasibility of the implementation plan, including Academician Cai Ronggen, Academician Wu Yueliang, Research Fellow Lu Youjun, Prof. Mei Jianwei, Prof. Shao Chenggang, Prof. Wang Bin, Prof. Wu Xuebing and Prof. Zhu Zonghong, affirmed the implementation plan and put forward constructive suggestions.

This project is oriented to the national development plan on gravitational wave research and is a key special project linking data readout and scientific theory in China's space gravitational wave detection program. Prof. Cao Zhoujian said that for the Taiji Program, this project has played a crucial role, "since the signal of gravitational waves is very weak, it is difficult to read the data. Our project is to read the data smoothly, which can provide theoretical support so that more meaningful experimental results can be produced.” The project will provide services for hardware design of space gravitational wave detection program, offer theoretical support for the processing of data from space gravitational wave detection, and help basic research lead guide research. This will find and open up new areas of fundamental physics research for China's space gravitational wave detection, and train a group of outstanding young talents who can conduct researches in the field of gravitational wave cosmology for China's space gravitational wave detection.
