
Jin Gang is a Grade-II research fellow and doctoral supervisor at the Institute of Mechanics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Chief Professor at the School of Fundamental Physics and Mathematical Sciences of Hangzhou Institute for Advanced Study, UCAS.
1989-1993: In ESPCI Paris, France, he studied under the supervision of Professor A. C. Boccara, an internationally renowned opticist, and received his Ph.D. degree from Pierre and Marie Curie University (Paris 6);
1992-1994: He served as a co-research fellow at CNRS, Paris;
1994-1996: He served as a visiting scholar at Linköping University, Sweden;
Since 1996, he has been a research fellow and doctoral supervisor at the Institute of Mechanics, Chinese Academy of Sciences.
In 2004, he received special government allowances from the State Council of the People's Republic of China.
In 2006, he was awarded the title of "Excellent Teacher" in the Graduate School of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
His research fields include space laser interference technology, optical nano-detection and biomolecular testing technology, two-dimensional nano-bio materials and biomolecular interaction, nano-bioengineering and protein chip technology research, etc.
