Cao Zhoujian is a doctoral supervisor at the Academy of Mathematics and Systems Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences and a double-employed professor at the School of Fundamental Physics and Mathematical Sciences of Hangzhou Institute for Advanced Study, UCAS.
September 1997-August 2001: He studied at Beijing Normal University for a bachelor's degree.
September 2001-June 2006: He studied at Beijing Normal University for a doctor's degree.
June 2006-April 2011: He worked as an assistant research fellow at the Academy of Mathematics and Systems Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences.
May 2011-April 2019: He worked as an associate research fellow at the Academy of Mathematics and Systems Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences.
May 2019-Present: He works as a research fellow at the Academy of Mathematics and Systems Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences.
He has been engaged in the research of numerical relativity, developed the numerical calculation form of the Z4c Einstein equation, developed an independent numerical relativity software AMSSNCKU (software copyright No. 2015SR047789), and constructed the elliptical orbit double black holes merging gravitational wave template SEOBNRE. At present, his Z4c equation form has been widely used by the international community of numerical relativity, and the SEOBNRE template has been used by international peers for LIGO gravitational wave data processing.
His main research interests are gravitational theory and general relativity, partial differential equations and numerical relativity.
