Hu Weida

He is a research fellow and doctoral supervisor who mainly researches the mechanism and application of infrared detectors. He was supported by the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, the Excellent Young Scientists Fund of China, the Young Top-notch Talent Plan of the national Ten Thousand Talents Program and the UK Royal Society-Newton Advanced Fellowship. He was also the winner of the China Youth Science and Technology Award, and selected as the Shanghai Excellent Academic Research Leader, the Shanghai Young Talent in Science and Technology, and the Shanghai Rising Star in Science and Technology.

He has been appointed as Associate Editor-in-Chief ofInfrared Physics & Technology, Executive Editor-in-Chief ofOptical and Quantum Electronics, and PC Member of a number of international conferences, like the US's SPIE DCS Defense and Security - Infrared Technology and Applications and International Conference on Numerical Simulation of Optoelectronic Devices. He has also served as Editorial Board Member of theJournal of Infrared and Millimeter Waves, Infrared TechnologyandActa Optica Sinica.

He is mainly engaged in research on the mechanism, development and space application of infrared photoelectric detectors. He has published more than 90 papers inNature Communications, Science Advances, Advanced Materials, Nano Lettersand other international SCI journals as the first/corresponding author, with 18 authorized Chinese invention patents.
