
Lu Wei, male, was born in Ningbo, Zhejiang. He graduated from the Department of Physics, Fudan University with a bachelor's degree in 1983, and from the State Key Laboratory of Infrared Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences with a doctor's degree in 1988. As a Humboldt researcher, he did research on solid-state spectroscopy at the Technical University of Braunschweig, Germany in 1989. He was a visiting professor at the University of Gothenburg, Sweden from July to August 1997, from July to August 1998 and from August to September 2002. He was also a visiting professor at the Australian National University from June to July 1999 and at Humboldt University of Berlin, Germany from September to October 2003. He is Director of the State Key Laboratory of Infrared Physics, and also serves as President of Shanghai Rising-star Friendship Association and a member of the Standing Committee of Shanghai Physical Society.
Focusing on optoelectronics, semiconductor physics and solid-state spectroscopy, his research covers photoelectronic materials and devices and their related condensed matter physics, photonic crystals and their applications in photoelectric technology. He has published more than 150 academic papers in SCI journals, with more than 40 authorized national invention patents and the monographSemiconductor Quantum Device Physics.
