Qi Hongxing

Qi Hongxing, male, born in Laiwu, Shandong Province in 1977, is a research fellow, doctoral supervisor, vice dean and secretary of the general Party branch at the School of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering, Hangzhou Institute for Advanced Study, UCAS. In 2004, he was admitted to the Shanghai Institute of Technical Physics (SITP), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) for doctoral studies under Xue Yongqi, an academician and expert in Infrared Remote Sensing Technology in China. He stayed at SITP after his graduation and conducted frontline scientific research until October 2020. Since then, he has been transferred to the Hangzhou Institute for Advanced Study, UCAS for the preparatory work of establishing the institute. During the research period, he participated in and undertook many national research projects. These include: research on laser-induced plasma spectral detection technology for the Lunar Exploration Program; research on infrared laser radars for airborne natural gas pipeline leakage inspection; research on pushbroom hyperspectral imagers for the aviation remote sensing system, a major national science project; and research on high-resolution UAV-borne infrared cameras.
