Dong Hongxing, male, born in Puyang, Henan in 1980, graduated from the Department of Physics, Fudan University with a doctor's degree in Optics in 2011. He is currently a research fellow and doctoral supervisor at the Shanghai Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics (SIOM), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). His research is focused on the fundamentals and technical applications related to micro-nano-structure-based optical microcavity lasers and metasurface-based electromagnetic/light wave modulation. He has developed a series of novel micro-nano-structure-based microcavity single-mode laser sources and his electromagnetic wave modulation technology developed based on the metasurface has been successfully applied to several cutting-edge models and national major engineering tasks. He has published 60 SCI papers inNature Commun., Angew. Chem. Int. Edit.and other international journals. He has chaired more than 10 important scientific research tasks supported by the Science and Technology Commission of the Central Military Commission, the State Administration of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defence, PRC, the National Program for Major Science and Technology Projects, the Equipment Development Department, and the National Natural Science Foundation of China. He was included in the Young Top-notch Talent Plan of Shanghai, the Shanghai Rising-Star Program (Class A) and the Youth Innovation Promotion Association of CAS, and awarded the Second Prize of Shaanxi Science and Technology Award and the First Prize of Shaanxi University Science and Technology Award.
