He is a member of the Committee on Quantum Optics of the Chinese Physical Society (CPS), the Council of Chinese Society for Optical Engineering (CSOE), the Committee on Quantum Information of the Chinese Institute of Electronics (CIE), and the Expert Group on Quantum Information of the Science and Technology Commission, Central Military Commission (CMC). He is also on the editorial board ofPlasma Science and Technology,Infrared and Laser Engineering,Acta Optica Sinica, andJournal of Quantum Optics.

In recent years, his main research is ultracold strongly coupled plasma physics and intensity correlation imaging using laser-cooled atom technology and its application.
