Liu Xuanyong

Liu Xuanyong, born in 1974, graduated from the Shanghai Institute of Ceramics, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2002 with a Ph.D. degree. He is Vice Chairman of the Youth Working Committee of the Advanced Materials Alliance of CATS Member Societies, a council member and Deputy Secretary General of the Chinese Society for Biomaterials, designate Chairman of the Biomaterial Table Interface Engineering Branch of the Chinese Society for Biomaterials, Vice Chairman of the Surface Engineering Institution of Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society, and Vice President of Shanghai Young Science and Technology Talents Association.

He was the winner of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars (2015), and was selected as the Scientific and Technological Innovation Leading Talents for the National Ten Thousand Talents Program (2018), the Shanghai Outstanding Academic Leader (2017), the Young and Middle-Aged Leading Talent in Science and Technology Innovation awarded by the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People's Republic of China (2016) and the Shanghai Academic Research Leader (2014). He has won honors and awards such as the first prize of the Shanghai Natural Science Award (2011, 2019), Shanghai Municipal Natural Science Peony Award (2015), Shanghai Young Talent in Science and Technology (2012), Shanghai New Long March Shock Worker Model (2009), Lu Jiaxi Young Talent Award of Chinese Academy of Sciences (2009), Youth Science and Technology Achievement Award of the Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society (2007) and National Excellent Doctoral Dissertation Award (2004).

His main research interests are the surface and interface of biomedical materials. He has long been engaged in the research of surface modification of biomedical materials such as medical titanium alloy, PEEK and magnesium alloy, and applied related technologies to the research and development of medical devices such as artificial joints, fracture internal fixation systems, fusion cages and dental implants. He has successively undertaken research work on the projects supported by the National Basic Research Program of China, the National Major Scientific Research Program, and the Key Program of the National Natural Science Foundation of China. So far, he has published more than 200 SCI papers, compiled and edited 4 monographs, and obtained more than 30 authorized patents.
