Huang Zheng
Huang Zheng graduated from the Department of Chemistry, Nankai University (NKU) with a Bachelor of Science degree in 2001 and a Master of Science degree in 2004, and the Department of Chemistry of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a Doctor of Science degree in 2009. He was a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign from 2009 to 2012. Since February 2012, he has been the project leader, research fellow and doctoral supervisor of the State Key Laboratory of Organometallic Chemistry, Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences.
He is mainly engaged in organometallic chemistry and homogeneous catalysis, including alkane conversion, olefin polymerization, and polyolefin degradation. He has published more than 60 papers in such journals asNat. Chem.,Nat. Catal.,Sci. Adv.,J. Am. Chem. Soc., andAngew. Chem. Int. Ed., and has been granted 2 international patents and 5 Chinese patents. He was supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China two times, including the Excellent Young Scientists Fund in 2014 and the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars in 2018. He has been awarded the Tan Kah Kee Young Scientist Award (2018), the Outstanding Young Scientist for Chinese Chemical Society-Evonik Chemical Innovation Award (2018), the Chinese Chemical Society-Physical Organic Chemistry Award (2019), the Chinese Chemical Society-China Youth Award for Homogeneous Catalysis (2017) , the 9th Shanghai Young Talent in Science and Technology (2018), Top 10 Outstanding Young Scientific and Technological Innovation Talents Award of Shanghai Branch of Chinese Academy of Sciences (2016), SABIC-CAS Supervisor Research Award (2015 & 2018), Shanghai May 4th Youth Medal (2015), and Thieme Chemistry Journal Awardees (2015). He now serves as deputy editor-in-chief of theChinese Science Bulletin, editorial board member of theChinese Journal of ChemistryandScientia Sinica Chimica, and youth advisory editorial board member ofACS Catalysis.
