Chen Yiyun received his Bachelor of Chemistry from Peking University in 2002, his Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from Princeton University in 2007, and graduated from Harvard University and Howard Hughes Medical Institute in 2011 as a postdoctoral fellow in Chemical Biology. In the autumn of 2011, he joined the State Key Laboratory of Bio-Organic and Natural Products Chemistry, Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences as a research fellow and project leader. His research interests are biocompatible visible light chemistry: the development of new visible light-induced biocompatible reactions to achieve visible light-regulated biomolecular functions, including the discovery of new visible light reactions and the development of new visible light chemical biology tools. He has published more than 30 papers and written book chapters inNat. Chem.,Nat. Chem. Bio.,J. Am. Chem. Soc.,Angew. Chem. Int. Ed.,EROS,Patai, andScience of Synthesis. He was awarded the Chinese Photochemistry-Perfectlight Outstanding Young Scientist Award, Shanghai Science and Technology System Youth May 4th Medal, Theime Chemistry Journal Award, and the Excellent Young Scientists Fund of NSFC. He serves on the editorial board ofChemPhotoChem(Wiley), the project leader of the "Major Research Program" of the Ministry of Science and Technology, and the external reviewer of the European Research Council.
