
Zhang Xiaheng is a distinguished research fellow at the Hangzhou Institute for Advanced Study, UCAS. He graduated from the School of Chemistry, Sichuan University in 2009. From 2009 to 2015, he studied for his Ph.D. at the Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences. During his Ph.D., he studied under Academician Yu Biao, a glycation scientist, and focused his research on the total synthesis of complex glycoconjugate natural products. From 2015 to 2020, he worked as a postdoctoral fellow at Princeton University under Prof. David MacMillan, winner of the 2021 Nobel Prize in Chemistry. At the beginning of 2021, he joined the Department of Chemistry of Fudan University as a doctoral supervisor and project leader. In 2021, he joined the Hangzhou Institute for Advanced Study, UCAS, where he studies visible light catalysis, free radical chemistry, transition metal catalysis and other cutting-edge areas of organic chemistry. He has published many academic papers in related fields, includingNature(2 papers),Nature Communications(1 paper),J. Am. Chem. Soc.(3 papers).
