Zhu Xueliang

In 1985, Zhu Xueliang graduated from the School of Biology, University of Science and Technology of China (USTC), and in 1988, he received a master's degree from the university and stayed there to teach. At the end of 1990, he went to the United States and completed his doctoral dissertation under the joint training of the University of California, San Diego and UT Health San Antonio. At the end of 1994, he returned to USTC and received his Ph.D. degree from the Shanghai Institute of Biochemistry and Cell Biology (SIBCB), CAS in 1995. Also in 1995, he became a postdoctoral fellow at Shanghai Institute for Biological Sciences (SIBS), CAS and served as the project leader. In 1997, he was appointed as a principal investigator and research associate. In 1999, he was promoted to research fellow and doctoral supervisor and worked at SIBCB, one of the units of SIBS, CAS.

In 2001, he was funded by the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars and honored as academic leader of the "Innovative Research Group" of National Natural Science Foundation of China and chief scientist of the "Major Research Program" of Ministry of Science and Technology. He has served as assistant director, deputy director, director of SIBCB's Academic Committee, chairman of SIBCB's Academic Committee, director of Laboratory of Molecular Cell Biology, CAS, and vice president of Chinese Society for Cell Biology. He is now associate editor ofMol Biol CellandChinese Journal of Cell Biology, editorial board member ofCell Res, member of Faculty of 1000, and supervisor of Chinese Society for Cell Biology (CSCB).

He has published several research papers inCell,Nat Cell Biol,Dev Cell,J Cell Bioland other journals as (joint) corresponding author. He has won the Shanghai Natural Science Peony Award, the first prize of Shanghai Natural Science Award, the sixth "Tan Jiazhen Life Science Innovation Award", CST "Outstanding Achievement Award" of CSCB, and was awarded as "Shanghai Leading Talent" and National Outstanding Scientific and Technological Worker, with honorary titles of "Excellent Teacher" and "Excellent Postgraduate Instructor" by CAS for many times.
