Huang Wei is mainly engaged in the basic research on protein glycosylation and functional regulation and the discovery research of novel carbohydrate drugs. He has made positive progress in many research areas, including the intersection of glycochemistry and glycobiology, development of chemical-enzymatic protein glycosylation methods and R&D technology of carbohydrate drugs, glycan editing and labeling on the cell surface, development of glycosylation-optimized monoclonal antibody drugs, R&D of antibody-drug conjugates based on glycan site-directed, and R&D of glycopeptide antibiotics against drug-resistant bacteria.

He has published more than 60 papers inNature Protoc.,Angew. Chem. Int. Ed.,J. Am. Chem. Soc.,J. Med. Chemand applied for more than 10 patents. He has been selected as a candidate for the Shanghai Pujiang Talent Program.
