Luo Cheng focuses his research on novel targets that are difficult to target (such as RAS, protein-protein interactions, and some epigenetic enzymes), and combines drug design and pharmacochemical biology techniques to develop innovative drugs based on new targets and mechanisms of chemobiomimetic regulatory strategies. He has revealed the regulatory mechanisms of many important targets, and discovered a number of promising new chemical entities and new targets for multiple important natural medicines.

He has published 155 SCI papers with a total impact factor of more than 1,000 and more than 4,200 citations. He has applied for 36 patents and obtained 5 authorized patents (4 achievements have been transformed). He was selected as Leading Talent in Scientific and Technological Innovation for the national Ten Thousand Talents Program, Young and Middle-Aged Leading Talents in Science and Technology Innovation by the Ministry of Science and Technology, and a candidate for the Shanghai Excellent Discipline Leader Program.
