Pan An is a professor and doctoral supervisor. He is mainly researching nutritional epidemiology and chronic metabolic epidemiology. In recent years, he has presided over and participated in many research projects supported by the US National Institutes of Health (NIH), the National Medical Research Council (NMRC) of the Ministry of Health, Singapore, the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and the National Key R&D Program of the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People's Republic of China. He has made many outstanding research results in nutritional epidemiology and diabetes and has received interviews from many famous international media, like Xinhua News Agency, ABC, BBC, CNN, Time, Huffington Post, New York Times, Fox News, and USA Today. He has published more than 150 SCI papers in authoritative international journals, receiving a total impact factor of over 1,000, more than 7,000 citations and an h-index of 46. Specifically, more than 70 papers have been published with him as the first/corresponding author. He has been an editorial board member ofNutrition & Metabolism, BMC Endocrine Disorders, PLoS ONEand other journals. Invited byN Engl J Med, JAMA, BMJ, Circulation, Diabetes Care, Am J Clin Nutrand other top international journals, he has participated in article reviews more than 150 times.
