Chen Luonan

In 1991, Chen Luonan received his Ph.D. in Systems Science from Tohoku University in Japan. He has served as Associate Professor at Osaka Sangyo University since 1997, Visiting Professor at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) since 2000, Professor at Osaka Sangyo University since 2002, Professor (concurrent post) at the University of Tokyo since April 2009, and Executive Director and Researcher of CAS Key Laboratory of Systems Biology since October 2009.

Currently, he serves as Chairman of the Computational Systems Biology Branch of the Operations Research Society of China, Chairman of the IEEE-SMC Systems Biology Committee, Member of the Expert Group of Major Research Program of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and Chief Scientist of the National Key R&D Program.

His research interests include computational systems biology, big data analysis and artificial intelligence. In recent years, he has published more than 300 journal papers and more than 10 books in the fields of computational systems biology and bioinformatics.
